S. Monteverde

In my opinion, I feel Carol Segal feels today’s college students are willing to do or say whatever it takes to avoid a bad grade or receive the repercussion for missing class in general.  Also, I do not feel that she believes “all“college students behave in this manner, even though for most of us it has definitely crossed our minds, excluding me. Ha-ha-ha. Further, as I was reading I could feel her sense of humor as well as her soft spot towards her students and even to most of the excuses that were given. Nevertheless, her tone was of disbelief on the many “excuses” she has heard or yet to encounter even though none could top the last one she gave, which my jaw is still on the floor. As for her views on today’s college students I definitely agree. For Example, if you are at a party the night before your paper is due and you have waited until the last minute to start it, then you would have no choice but to make an excuse! To sum up, all these things could be easily avoided if you just make school a priority, which I feel in all she is trying to state.
